Syphilis
It I caused by the Treponema pallidum bacterium, which can be found in the blood and other bodily fluids.
Clinical manifestations
Open sores on the mouth or genitals approximately 21-25 after the infection.
The sores disappear, but their causes (spirochete of syphilis) remain in the body.
In an advanced stage, a transient skin rash appears. The rash will disappear but, if untreated, the person will remain a syphilis carrier.
Treatment:
Antibiotics
If you don’t get treated
Syphilis can cause serious heart and brain problems or even death.
Syphilis can be transmitted to your sexual partner(s).
Syphilis can be transmitted vertically from mother to child.
