Leismaniasis

Leishmaniasis is caused by parasites that belong to the genus Leishmania. In Greece, Leishmania infantum causes visceral leishmaniasis (kalaazar), while another type of the parasite, Leishmania tropica is responsible for cutaneous leishmaniasis (aka Oriental sore and Baghdad boil).
